Hi there, Naturally Healthy People!
Today I had a really busy day. The morning was not too bad, as we had locums in to see some of the patients, but I had 5 visits to do - unheard of these days, but admittedly 3 were at the same local nursing home so not too far to drive (walk) between them, which always saves time.
One lady is a great friend. I have known her well since 1999, when I took over my GP list from the outgoing partner. She is a delightful lady with several illnesses - what we call co-morbidities (we have to have medical speak don't you know). She is usually wheezing away, and today was no exception. Trouble was, as I had been off with flu all last week, I was wheezing too.
Before too long we were both rolling around with laughter, pointing at each other and how ridiculous we looked, wheezing and gasping for breath, trying not to make each other laugh as it made the wheezing - well - worse to be honest.
Although I had a really tough day after that, with an emergency that needed dealing with, lots of extra patients (as one partner is off on annual leave - I know he will really benefit from his skiing holiday!) and a ridiculous number of telephone calls after the afternoon surgery (only emergency calls to be added in the evening - otherwise there is no way the kids will see me!), this one interaction (and there were plenty more delightful ones) held in my memory helped me to make light of it all.
Meeting at the end of the day so not home until 7:30pm - thank goodness for my angel of a husband, who loves cooking.
Until we meet again!
Love & Light,
Alisonx
